Brandon Elijah Scott is an author, traveler, skeptic, psychonaut and book zealot.
At this very moment, he’s putting the finishing touches on his debut novel.
Brandon was born in Columbus, Ohio, to a hippie with beautiful, long blonde hair. He grew up lakeside on Buckeye Lake in Hebron, Ohio. Like many Ohioans, Brandon has always held a deep love for his state and the loved ones who call it home, but the notion of spending a life solely within the heart-shaped state grew too daunting and therefore his happy feet took him on a journey exploring twenty six countries over several nomadic years. The truly awe-inspiring scenes and destinations, the memorable moments and lessons, and the amazing people were countless and has deeply helped to shape who he is today.
Brandon Scott prides himself in being a citizen of the world, for it is the world that matters, not the borders by men. He attended the Ohio State University and has lived in colorful Columbus, Ohio, iconic Venice, Italy, and beautiful Fort Collins, Colorado, where he currently resides with his fiancé Leah and their adorable puppy Cali. Brandon spends his days writing and reading and spending time with family. Brandon and Leah are working towards their dream of living life in a tiny house, deep in the woods. They frequent early yard sales on Saturday mornings hoping to score some old records or something they entirely don’t need for a shiny quarter, and perhaps the best part of each day is cooking new recipes together and dancing in the kitchen. Otherwise, they both live to explore the Colorado Rockies and surrounding areas in their free time.
Bran’s an old-soul, hippie at heart, who enjoys passing time with loved ones; who yearns for mind-bending discussions of the strange, the offbeat, and the controversial; who lives to explore Nature and the depths of consciousness; who thrives on the whim and admires most a sharp whit. He enjoys cannabis for the healing, creative and cerebral effects it provides.
While traveling abroad, Brandon ran the travel publication Eye & Pen (2012-2015), amassing over 1.4 million visitors a year, with a social media presence of over 100,000 followers. Brandon has been named as one of the ‘Top 100 Travel Photographers of the World’ and has won a modest share of literary and photographic awards. Brandon has written for numerous publications and companies like Marriott, Expedia, CheapOAir. In 2013, Brandon’s story “Grave Robbers of the Solway Coast, Scotland” was published in travel anthology, Postcards from Around the World: Volume 1.
Brandon’s first literary stylings came about at age three or four when his dearest mother Christine would fold sheets of paper in half, with a staple in the middle, encouraging him to write whatever came to mind. Hours later, he returned with manuscript in hand, written in crayon, full of wild stories and pictures of kings, castles and dragons, the neighborhood gossip (of unlikely, yet no less scandalous love affairs between neighbors), and the not-so-pretty stories that likely made no sense – whatsoever.
In his early years, Brandon Elijah Scott ran a popular rock music magazine while in high school, interviewing bands, reviewing pre-releases and promoting the local music scene. Over the following two years, the musical itch took hold; Brandon joined a punk rock band and toured regionally, performing over 100 concerts. He has since worked as a booking agent, bartender, portrait photographer and studio owner, hookah lounge owner, and has worked more recently in the digital marketing, branding and design industries.
Brandon is a deep thinking creative who has woken up to the ways of our world and has dedicated his life to the discovery of the truth in all things. Brandon has lived many lives: For the past decade, he made a living working as a travel writer, photographer, filmmaker and designer. Before and afterwards, Brandon experienced the hell of working for the man, and has vowed to throw off the shackles of the dead-eyed, soul-sucking corporate machine to write thought-provoking, eye-opening, and mind-revitalizing material, in the hopes of opening the eyes of the many.
Read with an open mind. For his words will challenge what you believe. If you didn’t question everything already, he will force you to think, to question, to find answers to the hard questions.
